Santo Domingo.- Three foreigners who were traveling on the same flight to France, Paris, were detained at the International Airport of the Americas, with the same number of suitcases camouflaged with a double bottom, where five packages were seized, in the form of sheets, presumably cocaine.
Agents of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) and members of the Specialized Airport Security Corps (CESAC) coordinated by the Public Ministry, were carrying out surveillance and inspection tasks in one of the departure areas of the terminal, when through one of the X-ray machines, they observed suspicious images in various luggage.
On instructions from the acting prosecutor and in the presence of the detainees, the protocol of opening three suitcases began, finding a total of five packages distributed, wrapped in gray and black adhesive tape, weighing more than (08). eight kilograms, presumably of cocaine.

A Brazilian, a Spaniard and a woman of American nationality are being held in prison for the case, who are being handed over to the Permanent Attention Jurisdiction of the province of Santo Domingo to learn about coercive measures in the next few hours.
The Public Ministry and the DNCD carry out local investigations to determine if there are others involved in the seizure of the substance, under the modality of double bottom in the luggage.
The authorities maintain strict intelligence and surveillance work at airports and ports, which has made it possible to thwart multiple drug trafficking operations by criminal networks that try to bring narcotic substances to the United States and Europe.
The sheets of the alleged drug were sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) for the corresponding purposes.
