Three detained by the National Anti-Corruption Police

So far there are three public officials detained in the special operation of the National Anti-Corruption Police, according to official sources.

Among those captured is Cristóbal Cornielles, who serves as president of the Caracas Criminal Judicial Circuit, as well as the 4th anti-terrorist judge José Maxcimino Márquez García.

In this case, the investigation stems from the release on January 9 of Oswaldo José Cheremos Carrasquel (Cheremos), member of the criminal organization plain trainaccording to information offered at the time by General Domingo Hernández Lárez, head of the Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Ceofanb).

Apparently, the release of Cheremos Carrasquel was ordered by Mario Aquinoone of the assistants of the Caracas Criminal Judicial Circuit, who sent a message via WhatsApp to Judge Márquez García asking him to order the free trial of the subject accused of illegal trafficking in weapons of war, among other crimes.

Subsequently, on February 15, Cheremos Carrasquel was recaptured at the headquarters of the Palace of Justice in Caracas and unofficially told the tale of paying 240,000 dollars, including vehicles and cash, to obtain the measure that kept him on the streets for months and half.

Sunacrip is in charge of transacting the petro, a Venezuelan digital currency supported by oil and minerals, among others.

On that side, they are investigating the disappearance of 3 billion dollars from the sale of Venezuelan oil, currencies that presumably did not enter the State.

The arrests began this Friday in the afternoon-night hours. Previously, the National Anti-Corruption Police had issued a statement informing that it had begun “a request to the Public Ministry for judicial prosecution of a series of individuals who, violating the sacred oath of honesty… could be involved in serious acts of administrative corruption and embezzlement.” The statement refers to “citizens who exercise functions in the Judiciary, in the oil industry and in some mayors’ offices.”
