Early this Thursday in La Guaira there was a landslide as a result of the rains that caused the death of a mother and two of her children, according to the Minister of Interior Relations, Justice and Peace, Remigio Ceballos.
He explained that the house, located in the La Ceiba sector, in the Zamora neighborhood, Urimare parish, collapsed due to the landslide that dragged with it a tree that fell on a retaining wall.
Ceballos indicated that “a 13-year-old boy was rescued thanks to the rapid action of the security forces,” and was transferred to the Doctor Rafael Medina Jiménez Hospital, on the outskirts of Pariata, to receive medical attention and social assistance.
The deceased were identified as Rosmery Medina, along with a three-year-old girl and a seven-year-old boy.
The minister added that “risk mitigation work is maintained in the state of La Guaira.

The rains in La Guaira began intermittently on Wednesday afternoon, caused by the passage of the tropical wave 47leaving the Calle Los Baños sectors, Maiquetía parish, as well as Playa Verde and Puerto Viejo, Urimare parish, flooded.
From 10 at night, the rains began with greater intensity for a period of more than three hours, with electric shocks and winds leaving parishes such as Caraballeda and Carlos Soublette with electrical downturns and even with service cuts.
Halls and common areas of the Caribbean Maritime University (UMC), urban centers such as Playa Grande, Urimare parish and sectors such as Barrio Aeropuerto and Brisas del Aeropuerto were also flooded.
River beds and streams increased their flows, such as Curucutí in Maiquetía, Los Cascabeles in Urimare and Osorio in La Guaira, without registering damage or loss so far.
Security and protection bodies are deployed to monitor the rivers.
