Three dead and five injured after vehicle overturns in Portuguesa

Three women died and five people were injured in Portuguesa when a truck overturned on the road in the San José hamlet, in the upper area of ​​the Ospino municipality.

The accident occurred on the afternoon of this Sunday, October 19 and, although the causes have not yet been determined, it is presumed that due to some mechanical failure the driver lost control of the vehicle, crashing into the hill and then overturning in a spectacular manner.

The report from the authorities indicates that the people were returning from a day of excursion in the Chorro San Miguel bound for Ospino, the capital of the municipality of the same name, aboard a gray Toyota Hilux, year 2007, plates A03E06V.

At the time of the incident, the deceased women could not be identified because they did not have documents, but this Monday two of the three victims were identified as Dulce María Urquiola Cedeño and Sara Lugo Libia Escalona.

Among the injured are a 16-year-old teenager and four adults, identified as Jesús Alejandro López Parra (29), Kelvis Jesús Flores Alejos (31), Gijaly Fabiana Escalona Grisman (26) and Daniel Alejandro Ortíz López (29), driver of the vehicle. All were admitted to the Acarigua-Araure hospital.

Officials from the Bolivarian National Police (PNB), Civil Protection and Firefighters were in charge of lifting the bodies and assisting the injured. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
