Three police officers with the rank of lieutenants were arrested in the province of Colón after being involved in a criminal organization dedicated mainly to drug trafficking.
According to the Minister of Public Security Juan Manuel Pino, through Operation Foráreo, carried out in the provinces of Colón and Chiriquí, for international drug trafficking and that 12 people were arrested and among them were the police.
He said that there are still people to learn that they belong to this criminal group.
“It is a disgrace to read the uniform, for the homeland that three Police units, low-ranking officers, have crossed that line, so now it is their turn to face justice,” he said, referring to those arrested who belong to the public force.
He said that these police officers were operating within the Colón police.
He lamented that the officers, who were finishing their careers, “crossed the line” and wasted their career by getting involved with this criminal organization.
