Three Army personnel were seriously injured after a jeep overturned

The serious traffic occurred on the tracks of Cerro Largo. The car was traveling on Route 8 when it skidded and overturned. The patrol, a Land Rover Recon jeep, was returning from the town of Aceguá to the “Patria” regiment of Armored Cavalry No. 8.

When the vehicle was traveling at kilometer 405.5 of the aforementioned route in the Aceguá-Melo section, it lost control. The jeep lost its way, crossed the path and then overturned until it was once again in a normal position.

The crew received attention, in the first instance, by neighbors and people who passed by the site. Later, a military ambulance and private doctors who were passing through the area came to treat them. In addition to the three seriously injured, there are two others who had minor injuries, while the sixth was unharmed.

According to what was reported by the Army, the occupants were transferred to different medical assistance centers. Some were transferred to the Melo Hospital, while others are currently being treated at the Cerro Largo Medical Assistance Cooperative (Camcel).
