Two police officers and a soldier were murdered with firearms during a confrontation that occurred in El Cinco, a rural sector of the José Félix Ribas municipality (Tucupido), eastern Guárico state.
Initial reports indicate that the incident occurred on Friday night when a mixed police-military commission was deployed in the aforementioned Guariqueño municipality.
Specifically, the officials clashed with members of a cell of the Tren del Llano that operates on that rural road. Commissioner Wuither Torres Bastardo, assigned to the Guárico state police, died at the site. They shot him in the head.
In the scuffle, they also injured Poliguarico officer Marcos Daniel Gutiérrez with a projectile impact in the head region.
A third official of the commission was wounded, this time in the abdominal region, being identified as Arnaldo Vivas Vivas, first sergeant of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), stationed in the National Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Command (Conas) 34.
Both Gutiérrez and Vivas were taken to the Rafael Zamora Arévalo hospital, located in Valle de la Pascua (Guárico), where they died.
The incident occurred in the midst of the deployment of a mixed Urra (Rapid Response Unit) made up of members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb) and citizen security organizations. The mixed Urra was deployed in Valle de la Pascua, Tucupido, Las Mercedes del Llano where cells of the Tren del Llano operate.
