Santiago.-Thousands of children will be left out of classrooms in the province of Espaillat while several schools remain abandoned by the educational authorities.
The complaint was made by the spokesman for the popular groups of Moca, Juan-Guanchi Comprés, who said that it is outrageous that many of these schools are 95% finished, but the authorities have abandoned them.
The popular leader assures that some of these schools are occupied by Haitians or converted into pens for raising cows and goats.
However, these buildings are abandoned, the authorities allow thousands of children to remain without receiving education due to lack of classrooms.
Guanchi comprés said that the most absurd and outrageous thing is that now the Minister of Education talks about renting premises to the private sector to operate the schools.
He deplored the lack of planning and common sense of the Dominican educational authorities, specifying that some of these schools, such as the one located on the Antonio Guzmán highway in Moca and the one in the Los Paulinos sector in Canca La Reyna, can be completed with few resources. and little effort.
He insisted that some of these schools are 90 or 95 percent finished, but the authorities are thinking of nothing more than renting premises.
The popular leader drew the attention of the Minister of Education, Angel Hernández, about the situation of Education in Moca, which he said goes backwards every day because the person in charge of District 06-06 of Moca seems to be a person unrelated to the commitment to improve the quality of public education and the education sector.
The Mocano popular groups spread videos and photos of the situation of the abandoned schools that have been turned into animal farms.
They stated that they did not understand why the educational authorities prefer to leave these schools abandoned for years when they can be finished and incorporated into the educational system to form the men and women of the future.
