“We remember that the construction of peace demands the firm commitment of our civil and political authorities called to serve the common good with honesty, justice, truth and transparency,” he said.
With banners, balloons and even a canvas that said “Culichis for Peace”, the protesters demanded that the authorities the end of violence.
The march began at about 9:00 a.m. The attendees left for the cathedral of the Sinaloense capital.
During the march, complete families participated, as minors also attended: “Children without fear, we want peace” and “My voice is small, but my right of peace is great” were some of the messages they launched.
This demonstration was convened by organizations such as Coparmex Culiacán, Citizens United AC, Citizen Government, Digno AC, Citizen Power AC, and via family, who asked to demonstrate peacefully against the insecurity that is lived in the entity. According to the figures of the organizers, more than 30,000 people attended.
The Ministry of Public Security and Municipal Transit of Culiacán deployed an operation to protect the march participants.
The demonstration is given almost a year of the “war” that broke out between the “Chapitos” and the “Mayos”, after the arrest of Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada in July 2024.
Since the late 2024 and early 2025, the Culiacanenses began to demonstrate to demand the Federal and Peace Federal Government in their city, since violent acts had already been recorded, such as the death of two minors and their father during an attempt to theft of a vehicle.
On that occasion, the protesters asked for the resignation of the Morenist governor Rubén Rocha, but he replied that he would not leave his position, because he assured that the people put it.
