Citizens born in February and May will be visited by the National Electoral Institute (INE) to invite them to be polling station officials in the judicial election, as well as in the municipal elections of Durango and Veracruz.
In this draw, held yesterday at the beginning of the ordinary session of the general council of the INE, the months of March and April were excluded, because people born in that period already participated in the last elections, those of June 2, receiving the vote of their neighbors.
The February selection means that among all the citizens born that month, and who are registered on the electoral roll, an insaculation will be carried out to visit a part of them; If the requirements are not completed, then the same is done with people born in May, and the range could even be expanded in case the people visited did not agree to participate.
Meanwhile, the general council of the INE approved the extension of the validity of voting credentials that expire on December 31, so that they can vote in the elections on June 1, both local and in the extraordinary process of Power Judicial of the Federation.
The INE reported that as of October 31, 478,405 people were in this situation (91,204 in Durango and 387,201 in Veracruz).
The councilors also approved the organization of voting in preventive detention for local elections (there will not be this option for the election of judges). In the first case, counselor Arturo Castillo trusted that this time Veracruz will agree to sign the agreement to hold elections in the entity’s penitentiary centers, so that people who face a process, but have not received a sentence, can vote.
Likewise, the general council of the INE received the report on the bases for calling people interested in being observers of the local elections in question: 39 municipalities of Durango and 212 of Veracruz, in addition to unions and councils.
