One of the most anticipated festivities by Panamanians, after two years of pandemic and without taking place, the Homeland parades will return this November, as revealed by the Minister of Education Maruja Gorday de Villalobos, assuring that in two weeks they will be meeting with the patriotic parades commission, which is chaired by the Ministry of Education and with the accompaniment of the Ministry of Security to present the official information on these celebrations.
“We had a good experience in 2019, so, based on that good experience and those results, planning is being done; the schools are already almost realistic, also the long-awaited calls for independent bands, and returning to that presence in that share in that love of country,” he said.
Although he did not specify where the parades will start in the capital, he said that they have seen many routes with the Ministry of Security and although adjustments have been made, the traditional ones (Calle 50 and Cinta Costera) remain.
He stressed that they are coordinating the schedule and logistics in which this celebration will take place, and indicated that for the week of September 20 all the details will be given formally through a press conference.
He added that in October the band contest will take place, but in addition they will do other activities with the independent bands.
