A reduction of RD$16.85 was arranged by the Government yesterday for the price of the gallon of the avtur; Additionally, it reported that for the week of March 18 to 24, the lowest subsidy in more than two years of management will be applied.
This subsidy is RD$38.5 million, to avoid increases in the prices of gasoline and optimal diesel, among other fuels.
Ramón Pérez Fermín, Vice Minister of Internal Trade, in a note issued through the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs said: “As we have been reporting for just over a year, the crisis in Eastern Europe has caused gasoline and diesel will reach historical price levels. Although the price of crude oil has maintained a stable trend, this has not been the case in the case of derivatives”.
He reiterated that the government “has always put people first” and deployed an extraordinary subsidy plan, with which they have been able to mitigate “the abrupt increases week after week, keeping them frozen for more than a year.” He assured that with this sacrifice the government seeks not to affect consumers and contribute to the reduction of inflation and its effects in the country.
“To put into perspective the great relief represented by the price reduction in recent days, in the year 2022, for weeks 11 and 12, the same ones in which we find ourselves, the government ordered a subsidy of 1,249 million and 663 million pesos, respectively,” said the public official.
The current prices are these: Regular Gasoline costs 274.50 pesos per gallon, Regular Diesel 221.60 per gallon, Optimum Diesel 241.10 pesos per gallon, Avtur 203.39 pesos per gallon, Kerosene 338.10 pesos per gallon and Fuel oil #6 192.11 pesos per gallon Fuel oil 1% costs 211.77 pesos per gallon, LPG 147.60 pesos per gallon and Natural Gas 28.97 per cubic meter.
