This Wednesday the search for the two missing in a plane crash in Chame resumed

For the third consecutive day, rescue work in the Punta Chame area, Panama Oeste province, was reactivated this Wednesday morning, in order to locate the two occupants who were aboard a plane that crashed in that sector on Monday afternoon.

The Civil Aeronautical Authority reported that these tracking tasks are carried out by air, sea and land.

The search by sea has continued throughout the last nights and early mornings, without finding the whereabouts of the occupants of the aircraft, with US registration N5535J.

In the Cherokee 6 aircraft, whose flight plan was from Contadora Island bound for the Krish Persaud airfield in Chame, five people were traveling. A 70-year-old woman and a 57-year-old man are the disappeared; both are American. Meanwhile, three occupants were rescued alive the same day of the accident and were taken to a medical center for care.

The search block is made up of the joint search and rescue task force of the Civil Aeronautical Authority, the National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc), the National Aeronaval Service, volunteers from the Panamanian Red Cross and the Panama Fire Department. There are two aircraft and 50 people involved in the operation.
