The celebration of the Viña del Mar International Song Festival is always accompanied by a police deployment to guarantee the security of the event. On this occasion, the PDI carried out a series of services that culminated in the arrest of seven people, including four Chileans for violation of the Drug Law.
However, the area that attracted the most attention was that of the International Police, where a total of 671 foreigners were inspected during the six days of the festival. Of these, 33 were denounced for violating the Migration Law and three were notified of expulsion measures from the national territory.
The Viña del Mar Chief of Migrations and International Police, Sub-Prefect Danilo Gaete, reported that “three foreigners who had pending arrest warrants were arrested, being placed at the disposal of the Guarantee Court.”
