“I want to stop in 2023”, the country president of GPTW, Fedra Feola, began her speech. And she continued: “The distance (imposed by the covid-19 pandemic) made us closer than ever.”
Feola expressed that new challenges, paradigms and teachings are expected this year. “This is the biggest ranking in the history of our 19 years,” he said. In fact, it is the first time that GPTW presents three categories, according to the number of workers in the company. In this edition, 112 companies that managed to pass a “first level of excellence” participated and 50 were selected for the ranking, detailed Feola.
The companies that managed to enter the GPTW lists they have the “genuine conviction that business is done by and for people; being in the ranking is a consequence of how you work” with that senseconcluded the GPTW benchmark in Uruguay.
The company that ranked first among the best places to work for 10-50 employees was the technological Awalabs. “For us it is very important that our team is happy when it comes to working. We are proud to have obtained this recognition”, said Virginia Fernández Arzuaga, Awalabs Lead Developer (leader of a team of developers) when receiving the distinction.

In addition, the hilton hotel was distinguished as the best company to work for in the country among companies with between 51 and 300 workers. “This is one of the awards that we most expected during the year, especially for being the second consecutive year to obtain it. We share it with our entire team member and the regional team,” said Sebastián Orosa, general manager of Hampton by Hilton Montevideo Carrasco.

Finally, the organization that ranked first in the ranking of the best places to work for more than 300 people was FNC. “We are very proud of the team we have and of these achievements that our company has achieved with more than 150 years in Uruguay. We will continue working”, expressed María Noel González, leader of People Design, upon receiving the award.

On the other hand, the president of GPTW for Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay, Cecilia Riva, delivered two special recognitions “to companies that bet on differentiating themselves from their strategies to ensure the well-being of their people and that of the community”.
In this sense, outstanding Greenthe financial services company, and zonamericathe technology park and free zone, for having generated strategies focused on caring for the environment in particular.
“The fact that the company has come to have a position among the best places to work is very important, but we must continue working to maintain it and improve it,” Feola concluded.
