The website, whose address will be informed in the next few hours, will allow a worker to enter their personal and health data –the positive test and your vaccination status-, that They will be confirmed by the database of the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) and then passed to the BPS so that the certification is tacitly provided.
The president of the BPS, Alfredo Cabrera, explained that this solution is “a new path” of certification which is added to the traditional one, the medical certification. “That communication to the bank will arrive with the person’s vaccination status, and we will know how many days of leave they are entitled to,” Cabrera explained.
The worker will be certified from the last day worked, and if this corresponds to a day of leave, the BPS will add a ficto of two days. In the event that the worker still cannot return to work after the days of certification due to complications derived from the coronavirus, Cabrera remarked that “the medical act will end up defining the situation”.

Cabrera explained that the number of sick subsidy requests grew in January compared to December, although as the month has not ended yet there are no concrete numbers. From November to December, the increase in orders of this type related to the coronavirus grew 35%, according to the president of the BPS.
