This Thursday, August 8, the cycle of hearings continues in the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), to resolve the contentious appeal presented by the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro.
The hearings are part of the Electoral Chamber’s investigation into the presidential elections of July 28, at the request of President Nicolás Maduro, who claimed that an event consistent with a cyber attack had occurred on election day.
The Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court stated that all candidates and parties have already been notified, and therefore “they must comply with the aforementioned court order and go to this jurisdictional body.”
In response to this ruling, the Electoral Chamber published a schedule of summons.
In this sense, the following are expected to appear at the TSJ this Thursday: José Noriega for Popular Will, José Perdomo for the Political Alliance Assembly, Renewal and Hope, Alfonzo Campos for Hope for Change, Cristian Chirinos for Solutions for Venezuela, Erick Ondorroa for the Pencil Alliance, Roger González for Min Unidad, Timoteo Zambrano for Cambiemos, Leonardo Morales for Progressive Advancement, Alejandra Aguilera for the Ecological Movement of Venezuela and Máximo Sánchez for Neighborhood Force.
Likewise, former presidential candidates Javier Bertucci, Daniel Ceballos, Claudio Fermín and Antonio Ecarri are cited.
On Wednesday, five political organizations appeared before the TSJ after being summoned to submit documents related to the presidential election of July 28, so that this Electoral Chamber can carry out the corresponding expert appraisal and reach a decision.
He former candidate for the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD), Edmundo Gonzálezdid not attend the meeting scheduled by the highest court, at 11:00 am on Wednesday. Likewise, representatives of the PUD also did not present the electoral records requested by the TSJ, since, according to Manuel Rosales, “they have nothing to present,” since in his opinion they already showed the records through a irregular web page.
