Mayor resolved to extend the expiration date of the 1st installment of the Urban and Rural Real Estate Contribution
With the depreciation of the price of the Dollar as the main argument, the Communal Chief himself communicated an important decision that he made in the last few hours.
According to what he said at a press conference, this exchange situation is fundamentally affecting rural producers, so the payment of the 1st Installment that was scheduled to expire next Tuesday, February 10, will have a new deadline of Thursday, the 26th of this month.
The resolution includes the Urban and Rural Real Estate Contribution as announced by the Mayor of Cerro Largo.
“In a few days we will begin to refinance with the reduction of some other taxes. The doors of the Municipality are now open for this freeze” he started saying Christian Morel.
“Beyond that, the most important thing we have to report, although everyone knows that the economic situation of the Municipality is difficult and that we need the greatest possible collection, we must and have to work on the basis of always favoring the taxpayer” remarked the Mayor of Cerro Largo.
“In that sense, we have just made the decision to postpone the due date scheduled for next February 10 for the payment of the 1st Installment or the entire Urban Real Estate Contribution and the Rural Contribution, to February 26” Morel confirmed before the representatives of the media and in front of the Social Networks of the Departmental Government.
DUE TO THE FALL OF THE DOLLAR
“Many will ask why this is” said. “We all know the difficult situation that all rural producers are going through due to the drop in the price of the Dollar and that is why we want their money to yield a little more so that they can have a few more days of relief” basis.
“That is why we have just taken this resolution that consists of postponing the deadline to make the payment of the Real Estate Tax effective: we moved it from February 10 to February 26” the Mayor reiterated.
“We do it thinking about the taxpayer, thinking about the rural producer because we know that at this moment the Dollar is registering a significant decline” Christian Morel insisted.
“This way we will be giving them a few more days of respite” he stated.
ONLY THIS MONTH
He clarified that the extension of the deadline applies purely and exclusively for this month, maintaining the calendar prepared and disseminated in a timely manner for the rest of the installments of these two municipal taxes. “There was an improvement in the calendar for the other months. It always expired at the end of the month and we moved it to the beginning of the month” he remembered. “In this special case, where everyone who comes to pay in cash has a 20% discount, many taxpayers invest a lot of money in this month, which is why we have just made the decision to go from the 10th to the 26th this month of February.” Christian Morel, Departmental Mayor of Cerro Largo, ended by saying.
