Nicholas Petro Burgosson of President Gustavo Petro, referred to the accusations that his ex-wife has made against him, about alleged money that he would have received from an ex-capo and a businessman under investigation, in order for them to obtain a place in the programs of the total peace.

Petro Burgos told the Investigative Unit of EL TIEMPO that “I have not received any resources or any type of favor from these gentlemen. I do not know them, I have not dealt with them, I have not met with them either personally or through third parties.”
He also said that he asked the Prosecutor’s Office to open an investigation in this regard and expedite this case to clarify his situation as soon as possible.
However, he stated that he considers a “mistake on the part of the Presidency” to have linked him to such a serious issue”.
“It seems to me a mistake on the part of the Presidency to link myself to such a serious issue linked to corruption by criminal organizations that seek to hinder total Peace. They mix two situations that have nothing to do with each other.
