In a video recorded by one of the people who attended the function at night on Thursday, January 20. In the images it is observed when the trapeze artist loses control of his body and falls to the ground from a height of approximately 8 meters.
Realizing what had happened, several logistics people tried to help him as well as his scene partner.

This circus artist respond to the name Jhon Fredy GN, a native of Cartagena del Chairá, department of Caquetá, was immediately taken to the Erasmo Hospital in Valledupar, where the doctors treated him. After performing some X-ray tests, it was determined that the acrobat suffers from several fractures in his spine and in one of his legs.
“The patient was admitted with paraplegia in the lower limbs, X-rays were taken showing a fracture at T8, where compromise is seen at the spinal cord level. At the moment he is being treated by his EPS, and we are waiting for them to tell us if they authorize care here or in another IPS”, reported the Coordinator of the aforementioned assistance center in dialogue with a local portal.
As a consequence, Jhon Fredy must undergo surgery as soon as possible due to the severity of one of the hip injuries.
«He has a level of paraplegia, fracture also in the clavicle. At the moment he is receiving the indicated medication, he is awake, collaborates, speaks and is waiting for the spinal cord to deflate for surgery, ”said the official from the hospital in the capital of Cesar.
José Miguel Acero, administrator of the circus spoke with the newspaper TIME, and in the talk he attributed the fall to an apparent fatigue of the artist.
“What we came to know now is that the artist had played a soccer game the night before and the next day he had been swimming in the Guatapurí River. His physical condition betrayed him and played tricks on his legs,” he said.
In turn, the circus assured that all his shows have security protocols but there is always the risk that something unexpected may happen.
“It is a show that has all the biosafety and security protocols. But even a baker burns his bread. This occurs due to excess exercise and I should have taken it more into account, “he said.
It was learned that the circus has accident insurance which until now is covering all the trapeze artist’s medical expenses.
