Within the framework of the Asobancaria Banking Convention, this Friday the Minister of Transport, Guillermo Francisco Reyes González, met with representatives of different financial entities, such as Bbva, Itaú, Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional, Bancolombia, Corficolombiana, Findeter, Davivienda and Banco de Bogotá, in addition to the president of Asobancaria, Hernando José Gómez, to discuss the priorities of the Government and launch the decalogue of work for the next four years.

Among the issues that the official put on the table, Reyes highlighted revolutionize the railway system, river navigation, the construction of ports to connect the regions and local roads and made special emphasis on the importance of the participation and support of banks in the financing of infrastructure projects in the country.

The first point is that will continue structuring infrastructure projects, large, medium and small; bureaucracy will be reduced, so that the structuring is much more agile, fast and transparent; Emphasis will be placed on dialogue with the communities to reduce instances of arbitration, so that the conversation prevails in a concerted manner.

Also the policy of concessions will be maintained at the head of the ANI to continue and complete the infrastructure projects and the PPP process and projects will be streamlined.

In addition, he spoke of shock plans for the recovery of mass transportation systems; transit and transportation procedures will be virtual; tolls will be continued, prior socialization with the communities so that they understand their importance; Public works will be strengthened in the national territory and will continue to support leasing and renting.

“For the government of President Gustavo Petro, the development of the country’s transport infrastructure is fundamental, with which we hope to generate greater opportunities for sectors of the economy such as tourism, agriculture or commerce (…) This sector has always been a great ally of infrastructure, the main financier of the concession model, so we hope to work hand in hand to make Colombia a world power of life”, said Minister Reyes.
