This space, which hugs the banks of the Sinú River, has become a meeting point for residents and visitors looking for outdoor activities and direct contact with nature.

The recommendation to visit it, according to Colombia Travel, varies according to the traveler’s preferences, because although it can be enjoyed during any month of the year, “the most recommended months are from December to March”, when the dry climate allows you to take better advantage of outdoor activities. Still, even in the rainy season the landscape retains its appeal, and those who prefer to avoid the crowds usually choose weekdays.
But this park was not always as it is known today. Its origin dates back to 2005, when the municipal administration decided to recover the banks of the Sinú and turn it into an environmental and recreational corridor to improve the quality of life in the city. The project was designed to be carried out in phases and, since then, has continued to expand and modernize, integrating green areas, cultural spaces and ecological trails.
Currently, the Ronda del Sinú Linear Park exceeds 2 kilometers in length and is recognized as “the green lung of Montería”. The protection of wetlands and gallery forests has allowed the consolidation of a habitat for iguanas, turtles, howler monkeys, herons and other species that today form part of the urban landscape. This combination of city and biodiversity positions it as one of the most valuable corners of the Colombian Caribbean.
