This is the agenda for the delivery of the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize to María Corina Machado

Starting this Tuesday, the official events leading up to the event will begin in Oslo. the awarding of the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize to the Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, who confirmed his presence despite living clandestinely in Venezuela.

The program covers three days of public and protocol activities in the Norwegian capital, that the Nobel Peace Center has already launched.

Tuesday December 9 | Exhibition preview

9:00–11:00 Oslo time / 4:00–6:00 a.m. Venezuela time

The Nobel Center will offer the press a preview of the annual exhibition dedicated to the laureate. This year, The exhibition addresses the fight of Machado and the Venezuelan opposition for democracy, presented as a symbol of democratic retreat and the rise of authoritarianism in the world.

The official inauguration will be on December 11 and it will open to the public on the 12th.

Tuesday December 9 | Press conference and dinner with the Nobel Committee

1:00 p.m. Oslo time / 8:00 a.m. Venezuela time

Machado should lead the traditional press conference at the Nobel Institute, approximately 45-minute event in which winners usually share their first impressions before receiving the prize.

Afterwards he will have a private meeting with the Norwegian Nobel Committee and will sign the guest book.

Tribute dinner at the Grand Hotel

The Nobel Committee will host a banquet in Machado’s honor.

Wednesday December 10 | Celebration of the Children’s Peace Prize

11:00–12:00 Oslo time / 6:00–7:00 a.m. Venezuela time

This Save the Children event – traditionally reserved for the youngest – It will be held outdoors for the first time, in front of the Nobel Center. Seventh grade students from Oslo will participate and Princess Ingrid Alexandra will be present.

Machado is part of the program.

Wednesday December 10 | Celebration of the People’s Peace Prize

12:30–17:45 Oslo time / 7:30 a.m. –12:45 p.m. Venezuela time

The Town Hall Square will host concerts, talks and screenings, including the giant screen broadcast of the official ceremony. It is the first edition of this celebration open to the public.

Wednesday December 10 | Nobel Peace Ceremony

1:00 p.m. Oslo time / 8:00 a.m. Venezuela time

In Oslo City Hall – the traditional home of the Nobel Peace Prize for 40 years -, Machado should receive the diploma, the medal and the monetary prize.

Among the thousand guests there will be kings Harald and Sonia, princes Haakon and Mette Marit, political and diplomatic representatives, and his immediate family, including his mother, María Corina Machado Parisca, and his daughter Ana Corina Sosa.

The Venezuelan pianist Gabriela Montero will perform ““My Love”, by Simón Díaz, at the request of the winner.

Wednesday December 10 | torchlight procession

17:45–19:00 Oslo time / 12:45–2:00 pm Venezuela time

(The procession starts at 6:15 p.m. in Oslo / 1:15 p.m. in Venezuela)

The march will start from the Nobel Center and will end in front of the Grand Hotel, where the laureate traditionally greets from the balcony.

This year the organization is in charge of the Norwegian Venezuelan Justice Alliance, after the resignation of the historic Norwegian Peace Council.

Wednesday December 10 | Nobel Peace Prize Gala Dinner

More than 200 guests will participate in the official banquet in honor of Machado, headed by the crown princes of Norway, the prime minister and the speaker of Parliament.

Machado: assistance considered “risky”

The Nobel Institute confirmed to Efe that María Corina Machado assured by telephone that she will attend the ceremonies despite the fact that the head of the Nobel Committee, Jørgen Watne Frydnes, described the trip as “dangerous” in the face of possible reprisals from the Nicolás Maduro regime.
