On November 18, 2025, Miguel Ayala, son of the singer Giovanny Ayala, and his manager were intercepted in the middle of the Pan-American highway, near the “El Túnel” sidewalk in Cajibío, Cauca.
Armed subjects forced them to deviate towards a rural area with difficult access, known as La Sierra, where they would remain captive for 15 days.
From the beginning, the family and followers of the young musician started prayer chains and demanded respect for the lives of the victims while the authorities deployed a search operation.

During captivity, the kidnappers reportedly demanded a million-dollar ransom of 7.5 billion pesos. Although the figure has not been officially confirmed, the case generated great social and media mobilization.

Gaula Rescue
The rescue was carried out by GAULA in coordination with the Police and other intelligence units. Miguel Ayala and his manager were located in good health and transferred to a safe place for medical evaluations.

In the operation, an alleged perpetrator was captured and a weapon was seized, which represents a first step forward in the judicialization of the case.
Although operational details remain confidential, it was confirmed that the kidnapping took place in difficult-to-access terrain, surrounded by mountains and narrow roads, which complicated the location of the victims.
