Today, the massive Ica population reached the sacred temple of the Lord of Luren in the province of Ica, where they participated in the traditional descent prior to the start of the processional route that will last for more than 16 hours. Hundreds asked for health, work, peace and an end to violence and crime in Peru.
Faith and devotion
At 7:00 in the morning the crucified Christ was lowered with ropes by the Brotherhood of the Crucified Lord of Luren. Inside the church were the population who had gotten up early and queued for more than 10 hours, hundreds applauded and knelt, demonstrating their religious fervor to the patron saint of Ica. The National Police was also present, who provided protection for the sacred image and the gold jewelry it was wearing.
The population, in tears, raised their hands as a sign of receiving the blessing and with the accompaniment of the band of musicians, the sacred image was carried on their shoulders to the lower part of their church. This time it was decided not to move it to the central patio outside the church, so that the entry of the faithful could be brought forward earlier.
The devotees entered with paintings, images, religious objects, replicas of the Lord of Luren, pilgrims, cotton and others so that they could be blessed by the sacred image. The parishioners had access to the interior of the temple until noon, then the dark Christ was transferred to his processional platform for the start of his first procession.
