more vigilance

According to Raquel Buenrostro, head of the SAT, this is due to the actions implemented to make collection more efficient through programs such as Compliance with Obligations, Deep Surveillance, and Active Collection.

The first allows omissions to be identified and invites taxpayers to regularize them.

Meanwhile, the Deep Surveillance identifies which offenders have atypical behavior in the payment of their statements and promotes correction. Active Collection focuses on promoting the payment of certain debts through persuasive actions.

Payment to large companies

Unlike launching a tax amnesty program in the first year of the six-year term, as happened in PAN and PRI administrations, this government strengthened the judicial framework to collect tax debts from taxpayers, especially large companies.

This began in 2019, and by 2022 a culture for better voluntary compliance is already observed, that is, instead of the SAT looking for companies to collect, without judicialization, the companies arrive directly with the authority to catch up, according to Buenrosto.

According to the SAT, in January-March 2022, thanks to the various programs implemented, 81% of taxpayers considered that the SAT is efficient in combating tax evasion, which represents an improvement of one percentage point compared to the previous year. and 10 points on average compared to the first quarter of the current administration.
