Little by little, the governments of Colombia and Venezuela are reestablishing diplomatic relations that contemplate a series of concrete actions such as the reopening of borders and the reactivation of trade, among others.

One of these also has to do with the resumption of commercial flights between the two countries, closed almost three years ago and that seems to be seeing the light after on Friday the Turpial airline, which will operate the Caracas-Bogotá route, put on sale tickets for flights between the two capitals, separated by 1,400 kilometers.
From Venezuela there will be two flights a week (Mondays and Saturdays), while from Colombia, Satena would cover the reverse route, Bogotá-Caracas, with a frequency and rates unknown until now.

For now, the Colombian Civil Aeronautics informed that it authorized a tour of the state airline Satena of a passenger charter flight on the Bogotá – Caracas – Bogotá route for Wednesday, November 9, at 7:50 a.m. However, a charter flight is not a commercial operation, but yes, it would be opening the door for the reestablishment of air connections.
The Colombian ambassador to Venezuela, Armando Benedetti, announced the week, via Twitter, that the government of Nicolás Maduro had given the green light for the start of the flights, something that has been postponed on at least two occasions, since on September 26, when the first route was planned.
The resumption of commercial flights will take place six days after Colombian President Gustavo Petro met with Maduro in Caracas, where they agreed, among other things, “the re-impulse and the resolution of the critical knots in the matter of transport”.
Air connectivity between Colombia and Venezuela was suspended in March 2020, as part of the measures taken by the Maduro Executive against covid-19.
