The discussions to define by how much the minimum wage will be adjusted of Colombian workers for next year are just around the corner. With the installation of the negotiation table getting closer, the proposals for the increase are already seeing the light.
Among the voices that have referred to the issue is that of Gustavo Bolívar. In an interview with EL TIEMPO, the director of the Department of Social Prosperity (DPS) pointed out that considers that the increase could be around one digit.
“I think it’s around 6.5%,” the official explained to the media, without delving into more details.
In monetary terms, Bolívar’s proposal translates into an increase of $84,500. In this way, if an adjustment of this type is agreed upon, the minimum remuneration for 2025 would be $1,384,500.
It should be noted that this figure does not include the transportation subsidy, which will be another of the topics discussed in the dialogues between Government, businessmen and labor unions once the dialogue is launched at the tripartite table.
The proposal of the director of the DPS is close to that previously mentioned by the Minister of Finance, Ricardo Bonilla. The head of this portfolio has indicated on different occasions that the figure that the Executive would propose would be close to 6.2%.
