Pensioners and all users of the homeland system began to receive the bonuses Against the Economic War and the Revolution is Independence this Wednesday, April 19. The first is 770 bolivars; the second, for Bs 100
On the afternoon of this Wednesday, April 19, the Government of Nicolás Maduro announced, through the Twitter account @BonosSocial, the beginning of the delivery of the bonds Against the Economic War, for retirees; and Revolution is Independence, the latter for all people registered in the homeland system.
The amount of the subsidy for public administration pensioners rose 113.9%, compared to that delivered in March 2023. For this month the figure is 770 bolivars: 492% more than the basic pension of Bs 130 per month, which is received by more than 5 million beneficiaries.

At the exchange rate of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) –at Bs$24.56–, this allowance is equivalent to $31.4 dollars, while the national minimum wage is only $5.29; This figure also corresponds to the minimum income established for pensioners and retirees.

“Revolution is Independence”
On the other hand, the Revolution is Independence, the second bonus announced this April 19 – when 213 of the declaration of independence of Venezuela are fulfilled – is for Bs 100 ($4.07 according to the BCV rate). This is intended for all users registered in the homeland system. Today in the country, $4.07 is almost the minimum wage and is what a carton of eggs costs.

The Government maintains its policy of maintaining the amounts of the bonds in foreign currency, in order not to deteriorate the purchasing power of the assignments.
According to reports from the Center for Documentation and Social Analysis of the Venezuelan Federation of Teachers (Cendas-FVM), the family food basket, for a family of five members, is around $482.26.
