The thirteenth batch with 54,000 pediatric doses against Covid-19, arrived in Panama this Wednesday to continue advancing the vaccination strategy in the national territory undertaken by Operation PanavaC-19.
The vaccination day continues this week with the application of doses against Covid-19 to the pediatric population (children between 5 and 11 years old) through the school health program in educational centers and the placement of booster doses to people from the age of 16 at fixed vaccination points such as health centers, polyclinics, national and regional hospitals, among others.
Through the school health program, vaccination is scheduled in circuits 2-3 Coclé; 3-2 Costa Arriba and Costa Abajo de Colón, 4-2,4-3 and 4-4 in the province of Chiriquí.
In addition, the nursing teams of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) and the Social Security Fund (CSS) are scheduled to visit 497 schools this week, 444 by the Minsa and 53 by the CSS, to apply vaccines against Covid-19 and of other communicable diseases throughout the national territory. The application of the doses to the students is applied with the prior consent of the parents.
The application of the third dose and booster dose continues in circuits 1-1 Bocas del Toro; 2-3 Cocle; 3-1 Columbus; Saints 7-1; 8-5 La Chorrera, West Panama; 8-.4 Chepo and 8-9 Panamá Norte in the province of Panamá.
The coverage of the target population from 5 years of age is 86.8% with the first dose and 76.3% with the second dose and 45.9% with the booster dose.
In case of presenting symptoms related to the virus, the person should seek medical attention immediately and undergo a Covid-19 test.
