For the second day in a row, daily cases of coronavirus in Argentina they fell. In its latest update, the National Ministry of Health reported on 12,664 new infections and 100 deaths associated with the viral diseaseabout half of the cases reported yesterday.
Now, since the start of the pandemic, The health authorities have identified 8,589,879 infections of coronavirus and 122,684 deaths, one of the highest rates in the entire region. On the other hand, the rate of active cases in the virus in the country it rose to 301,247.
On the last day, the highest incidence of positive cases of coronavirus was reported in the Province of Buenos Aires, with 4,774 new infections in 24 hours. While CABA (1,830) and Córdoba (1,385) were the only ones that registered more than 1,000 infections on this day.
In the rest of the jurisdictions, the cases did not exceed a thousand. The list continues with: Santa Fe (714), San Juan (480), Formosa (472), La Rioja (466), Corrientes (365), Misiones (354), La Pampa (263), Entre Ríos (187), Neuquén (186), Chaco (184), Río Negro (175), Mendoza (165), Tucumán (158) and San Luis (149).
With less than 100 infections, they complete the list: Catamarca (75), Chubut (68), Salta (56), Tierra del Fuego (44), Santa Cruz (43), Santiago del Estero (38) and Jujuy (33). “This drop in the incidence rate shows that the maximum peak of the third wave was in the month of January”affirmed the Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti.
In terms of hospitalizations, the Ministry of Health confirmed that there are 2,597 people hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) throughout the country, which represents 48.7% of the national ICU occupancy. While in the AMBA, the rate of boarding schools is 45.7%.
Strategic Vaccination Plan
According to the latest data from the Public Vaccination Monitor, until the 5:00 p.m. cutoff this Sunday, a total of 39,829,143 people had received at least one dose of the treatment against the illnesswhich translates to 88% of the general population.
For their part, some 35,337,656 people have already completed the immunization schedule with the two recommended doses, that is, 77.3% of the population. Meanwhile, the national reinforcement campaign has already reached 23% of the Argentine population, given that 10,808,715 people received the third dose.
