The pandemic of coronavirus continues to expand throughout Argentina. Today, Wednesday December 29, the Ministry of Health of the Nation reported 42,032 new infections, 26 deaths and 155,218 active cases, figures that had not been registered in the country since the middle of the year.
With this latest epidemiological report, the cumulative rate of infections of coronavirus in Argentina it now rises to 5,556,239 positive cases since the start of the pandemic; while the number of patients recovered from the virus today amounted to 5,283,910.
On the other hand, the overall death rate associated with the pandemic of the coronavirus increased to 117,111 victims since March 8, 2020, when the first death from the virus in the country was confirmed.
In the last 24 hours, infections were reported in all provinces, although the higher incidence of virus accumulated in the jurisdictions of Buenos Aires (15,135), Córdoba (9,987), CABA (7,329), Santa Fe (2,706) and Tucumán (1,016), which were the only ones with four- and five-digit numbers.
While in the rest of the country the cases were distributed as follows: Mendoza (703), Río Negro (541), Salta (536), Catamarca (469), Santa Cruz (463), Chaco (404), Neuquén ( 381), Santiago del Estero (351), Entre Ríos (315), La Pampa (301), San Luis (293) and San Juan (281).
Finally, the list of incidence of the coronavirus in Argentina closed with the provinces of Jujuy (171), Corrientes (159), Chubut (146), La Rioja (124), Misiones (97), Formosa (73) and Tierra del Fuego (51); the last three were the ones that registered the least cases in the past day.
In the case of deaths, the Ministry of Health reported that 10 of the victims were women and 16 men. 8 were identified in Tucumán, 3 in Chaco, 3 in Córdoba, 3 in Río Negro, 3 in Salta, 2 in Buenos Aires, 2 in Santa Fe, 1 in Entre Ríos and 1 in Neuquén.
Now, in terms of hospitalizations, the occupancy rate of the Intensive Care Units (ICU) in the country is at 34.9% of its capacity and in the AMBA (Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires) it is at 36.3%.
Strategic Vaccination Plan
Two days after the mandatory health pass comes into force, the Public Vaccination Monitor of the Nation has distributed a total of 93,954,966 doses of vaccines against the coronavirus throughout the Argentine territory, of which 75,644,660 were applied.
Thus, the total of those immunized with the first dose of the vaccines is 38,036,381 people, while 32,587,409 citizens have already completed the inoculant treatment. In addition, 2,584,447 people have already received the third booster dose.
