Yesterday, the federal government issued the decree that officially announces that on October 3 the third stage of the implementation of the labor justice reform will begin in the 11 entities that were missing, including Mexico City, as well as some municipalities of Durango.

With the decree sent by the Senate and published in the Official Journal of the Federationthe local conciliation and arbitration boards will stop receiving individual and collective cases and the courts on the matter will begin to operate in Chihuahua, Mexico City, Coahuila, some municipalities of Durango, Jalisco, Michoacán, Nayarit, Nuevo León, Sinaloa, Sonora, Tamaulipas and Yucatan.

After the entry into force, it will be the conciliation centers and labor courts that will be in charge of the trials.

The labor authorities have warned that this is the phase more complex in operational and budgetary terms due to the fact that the states with the most economic and industrial activity and, therefore, the greatest labor conflict are included, concentrating nearly 60 percent of the litigations.

According to the minutes of the third ordinary session of the Coordination Council for the Implementation of the Reform of the Labor Justice System, the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare allocated 616 million pesos in subsidies to the entities that requested it to start up labor reform.

The Evaluation Committee, a collegiate body empowered to evaluate, authorize or deny the projects presented by the entities, determined the delivery of 97 million 168 thousand 505 pesos for Jalisco, 95 million 974 thousand 684 for Nuevo León and 85 million 247 thousand 445 for the Mexico City.

In the first and second stages, 28 offices of the Conciliation Center were opened in the 21 states where the new labor justice system currently operates, and 15 more offices will be included in the third stage, the document indicates.

The courts will have 16 buildings, of which 13 are leased and three owned, as well as 71 courtrooms.
