Arajet, the first airline of low prices in the Caribbean confirmed that Dominicans can already buy their round trip tickets with taxes included to Bogotá and Medellín from 69 dollars each way. These two routes are added to the three already operated by Arajet to Barranquilla, Cartagena and Cali, and which began operations during the month of September.

With this great commitment, Arajet seeks to connect Santo Domingo with the main cities of Colombia and its different tourist and commercial experiences, and promote the growth and economic development of nour country through the promotion of tourism in cities that have a significant demand for travelers.

The Founder and CEO of Arajet, Victor Pacheco, assured that “without a doubt, Colombia is for Arajet a destination of great interest due to the demand of travelers to and from the Dominican Republic. For this reason, we consolidated our largest operation to date with five destinations in this country, reiterating our commitment to strengthening a beneficial economic, cultural and social relationship for the two nations. We want Colombians to find in us an affordable travel alternative that meets their travel expectations at the lowest cost, with world-class service and the newest and most efficient aircraft on the market.”

The first flight from Santo Domingo to Bogotá will be on December 5, while the one from Medellín will take place on December 6. With the opening of these two destinations, Arajet expands and consolidates its presence in Colombia and aims to advance its expansion strategy on the continent, with which it expects to transport seven million passengers over a period of five years.

Carlos Mesa, vice president of customer experience at Arajet, explained that there will be three levels of rates. “We will start by offering 185 seats each way for these new routes through arajet.com; and temporary promotions, making sure that it is the lowest rate in the market and the best service on board with the warmth that characterizes Dominicans.”
