A commercial establishment in Bucaramanga was the victim of a robbery in the early hours of Tuesday, September 3, leaving the owners devastated and with great losses. The criminal, apparently homeless, managed to enter the establishment through the roof. During his incursion, the subject not only took money and valuables, but also caused considerable material damage and consumed food stored in the refrigerator. The estimated losses from the robbery amount to approximately 10 million pesos.
As reported by the media Vanguardthe owner of the pizzeria, Julieth Díaz, explained that the thief stole around $800,000 in cash, a guitar valued at almost $3 million, a supply of large knives and lamp cables. “He also damaged the DVR and some cameras, destroyed some tables, among other damages that we have to assume. He ate some chorizos and other things, but then he did not close the refrigerators and the entire market was damaged,” said the affected owner.
They noticed the theft when they opened the business
The robbery was discovered in the morning, when they arrived to open the shop. The surprise and dismay were evident when they saw the place destroyed. Díaz expressed her frustration and discouragement: “I arrived at noon and it was horrible to see everything damaged. It is very sad. I have been in business for eight years, I am alone and that is discouraging. It makes you feel very helpless.”
The situation is further aggravated by the fact that the offender damaged the security camera circuit, thus preventing the recording of the incident from being reviewed. The owner has reported the case to the authorities and has requested a greater police presence in the area to ensure security and prevent future incidents.
