The Mexico City International Airport (AICM) recovered the parking lot in the area known as El Triángulo, which was used by the 300 taxi site to store its units. The property was occupied in a manner irregularsince the union has not had a contract since 2020 and also owes an average of 50 million pesos for lease and access to the federal zone.

For this reason, the taxi drivers blocked Capitán Carlos León avenue for an hour, the main access route to Terminal 1. Arturo Andrade, president of site 300, assured that the dispossession by the AICM legal officer was carried out without a court order or final judgmentsince they have a definitive suspension from a federal judge to continue in the facilities while they reach an agreement with the authorities to settle the debt.

Homero Pantoja Rivas, legal representative of the taxi drivers, indicated that they will promote a complaint before the court. There is a violation of the human rights of the more than 500 permit holders and their families. The legal department with the support of the Navy seized the facilities without a court order. There is a previous trial where there is no resolution or final sentence; So, by violating and taking justice into their own hands, they are causing damage to the organization.

In a statement, the authorities indicated that the property was subleased, because during an operation to recover it, they discovered that there were various commercial premises without a contractual relationship with the AICM, such as a car wash, auto parts store, mechanical workshop, insurance office, local therapy , miscellaneous, parking for private vehicles and 20 public service vehicles, among other lines of business.

According to its records, to date there is no accredited legal representative, since three people without firm recognition hold themselves as such, for which reason the AICM administration maintained that it has no one to negotiate with, for which it reserves the right to proceed. against those who are responsible.

The measure applied in no way harms the public service provided and in order to protect the source of work for taxi drivers they will be able to use the platform located in Terminal 2.

During the development of said procedure and until 2:00 p.m., access was allowed to finance people (three people), from the organization called Taxi Drivers for the Ground Transportation Service Site 300, who proceeded to pay the permit holders for services rendered. during the days Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

At the conclusion of said procedure, the personnel of the Naval Airport Protection Unit responsible for security at the AICM proceeded to carry out their protection and surveillance functions with the participation of the Auxiliary Police. This administration confirms its decision to continue acting with order, discipline and transparency within the framework of the rule of law.

During the blockade, agents from the Citizen Security Secretariat helped passengers to get to Terminal 1 and blocked traffic.

In vans or coasters, the uniformed officers transferred them along with their luggage so that they would arrive on time for their flights, while others had to walk or run long distances to avoid losing their trip due to the impossibility of arriving by their own car, application service, or taxi. .
