The Dominican Republic and Italy will work together to defend consumers of both nations on the issue of electronic commerce and misleading advertising.
The executive director of the National Institute for the Protection of Consumer Rights (Pro Consumidor), Eddy Alcántara, and his counterpart from Italy, Roberto Tascini, president of the Association for the Protection and Defense of the Consumer (ADOC) of that nation, held a meeting yesterday meeting via zoom, in which they agreed to sign an agreement to work against the aforementioned practice.
Alcantara highlighted that the ADOC, after knowing the procedure implemented in the country to avoid misleading advertising, on dates when commercial activity is more active.
He referred to the results obtained on dates such as Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Black Friday and Christmas holidays, in the complaints or claims for misleading advertising were minimal.
