The antiviral drug molnupiravir, used to counteract the effects of Covid-19, will be distributed in the different health regions of the country starting Monday, June 13.
The Ministry of Health, through the National Warehouse of Sanitary Supplies, reported that there are 15,000 molnupiravir treatments against COVID-19, which arrived at the entity’s warehouses to treat patients with the disease.
The medicine will be available starting Monday in all the Health Regions of the Minsa to be distributed to the respective hospitals for the early treatment of Covid-19 in patients, said Dalís Barría, head of the national warehouse of health supplies of the Ministry of Health. Health.
According to Barría, each treatment bottle contains 40 tablets that must be taken during the first five days of the illness. The treatment will be exclusively for patients over 18 years of age.
In previous statements, the Minister of Health Luis Francisco Sucre would have assured that this medicine will help reduce hospitalizations and complications, due to Covid-19; in addition, it will reduce the duration of the patient’s symptoms.
