Due to the demand for the export of the mass chestnut, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Center for Agricultural and Forestry Development (CEDAF)they installed in this province a field of field for farmers (ECA) for that crop.
ECA is a modern eminently practical agricultural extension tool that combines technical knowledge with the experience of producers, to generate a synergy around problems and agree on their possible solutions.

The ECA was installed on the farm of the producer Jochy Rivas, located in the El Caimito community, who has 4 thousand tasks planted with mass chestnut, and farmers from the communities of Cenoví, Caimito, Cotuí, Aguayo, El Guineal, La Savina, Portero, and San Francisco de Macorís participate.
Under the facilitation of Juan Hicianoexpert of the Dominican Agrarian Institute (IAD), farmers are trained on good agricultural practices (BPA), and other techniques that must be applied to achieve the greatest production and productivity of their farms.
Frank Martín VenturaNortheast Regional Director of Agriculture, thanked CEDAF for his support for the field of field to be a reality in the area, and said that “their installation consolidates them as pioneers in the mass chestnut cultivation.”
