After more than two weeks of closures at the national level, this morning trucks arrived in the province of Chiriquí with supplies and medicines that will be distributed in the executing units of the Social Security Fund (CSS).
Alexander Acosta, head of the CSS Chiriquí Medicine Distribution Center (CEDIS), explained that these supplies and medicines are the purchases that were pending and that they had not been able to arrive due to the closure of the Pan-American highway.
He explained that throughout the week they will be receiving a large number of products pending purchase, in addition, that they are awaiting orders from the surgical doctor, clinical laboratory and medicines from the central level.
“Once received, we will distribute to the 15 executing units of the province of Chiriquí (10) and Bocas del Toro (5),” he said, noting that for these deliveries it will be necessary to work Saturday and Sunday because the needs are many.
For his part, the Institutional Medical Director of the CSS of Chiriquí, José Daniel Saldaña, stressed that with the orders that will arrive during these days they hope to supply between 99% and 100% of the supplies, surgical medical material and medicines.
