The Economy and Finance Commission of the National Assembly will summon this Wednesday the Ministers of Economy and Finance, Commerce and Industries and the General Director of Revenue, to discuss the fuel problem and report on the status of Bill 808 that creates the trust for the compensation, reduction and stabilization of the increase in the price of petroleum products.

The announcement was made by the president of the National Assembly, deputy Crispiano Adames, after meeting this Monday with a group of carriers, who requested the head of the Legislature to mediate with the Executive Branch to achieve the approval of this project, given the crisis in the sector due to to the high cost of fuel.

Adames recalled that at the end of the ordinary period concluded on April 30, the legislative plenary approved project 808 in the third debate, aimed at dealing with the issue of fuel price stabilization through a trust.

He specified that in view of this situation, his person, together with the Economy and Finance Commission, have determined next Wednesday to develop a proposal to summon these officials so that they explain to the commissioners what is related to the fuel that he assures, continues to affect the Panamanians and to give a report on the status, scope and fate of Bill 808, which is already in the hands of the Executive.
