The Labor Minister, Luis Miguel de Camps, reported today that more than 25,000 people, who due to the age at which they entered the pensions Dominican do not qualify to receive a pension, they will be able to access the system and request it in advance.
At a press conference, De Camps, who is the president of the National Social Security Council (CNSS), explained that, after a multisectoral negotiation, the CNSS reached an agreement to issue a resolution that allows modifying some regulations of Law 87-01, so that the workers with 45 years and over, who began to register contributions in the system of pensionsthey can request their funds before complying with the 360 contributions as indicated by the regulations.
The measure was taken to respond to the number of people who were in a “legal limbo” in relation to the return of their contributions.
De Camps explained that with the resolution the method of calculating age was verified and that with it a broader and more inclusive mechanism is established to consider late entry, which is 45 years of age or close to completion.
The approved resolution is number 545-01. This authorizes the return of more than 7 billion pesos.
The approval was based on the favorable report issued by the Permanent Commission of pensions of CNSS, last Monday, June 13. This report was the result of a “careful analysis” of the applicable regulatory framework by the commission and arises from the concern of the president and directors, who sought to be able to benefit thousands of workers who were affected by the situation.
