The Public Ministry will request a court to impose preventive detention against the main accused of the kidnapping and subsequent murder of a married couple from La Guáyiga.
This was reported this Tuesday by the chief prosecutor of Santo Domingo Oeste, Edward López. The prosecutor specified that Dylan Alberto Ortiz, who had fled to the United States after allegedly committing the act, turned himself in to the authorities. He did so after talking with him and convincing him to appear before the security agencies.
The prosecutor did not specify what the defendant’s motive would be to participate in the death in La Guayiga of the spouses Luis Miguel Jáquez and Elizabeth Almarante Pacheco. But he assured that they continue with the investigations and behind the others indicated in the case.
“Getting to the mobile is often not easy, hypotheses are handled and we are in that management, and in due course if we can reach the right mobile it will be announced. The important thing in this case is to obtain evidence that compromises the criminal responsibility of each of the defendants. More than the individual or collective motive that they may have had,” López said. She did so after participating in the accountability ceremony of the Attorney General of the Republic, Miriam Germán Brito.
Prosecutor says they will not rest in the La Guáyiga case
“We do not intend to rest or drop the case until the sentence is achieved and all those who participated in this unfortunate act are not arrested,” he added.
The prosecutor also did not explain what the relationship was between Dylan Alberto Ortiz and the married couple. The bodies of both were found in a septic tank with signs of violence.
“In time they will be announced, we are in the process of investigation,” he said.
