They will replicate strategy "Get vaccinated in your neighborhood" in parts of the interior of the country

During the weekly coordination session of the Convacunas, the Minister of Health, Luis Francisco Sucre, reported that the “get vaccinated in your neighborhood” strategy, which brings the doses against Covid-19 closer to people’s environment, will be applied in the rest of the national territory.

The strategy will be expanded through the effective coordination of the MINSA Nursing chief, Eusebia de Copete, and the director of the Expanded Immunization Program (EPI), Itzel Hewitt, together with the regional chiefs of each instance in order to develop the program. at the provincial level, said the Minister of Health Sucre.

The purpose is to increase coverage of the population with doses against COVID-19 from the replication of the ‘vaccinate in your neighborhood’ program, to the interior sectors of the country, after having been successfully carried out in Panama City .

So far, 59,127 doses against COVID-19 have been applied in 63 days by the MINSA nursing team. Likewise, the 24,100 doses applied in public institutions by this team are mostly booster doses.

According to the report presented yesterday by the PAI, a total of 8,279,364 doses against COVID-19 have been applied throughout the country. The population over 5 years of age has coverage, distributed as follows: 87.6% with one dose; 78.3% with two doses and 50% with the first booster dose.

Panama has 26,026 active cases of COVID-19, of which 25,696 are in home isolation and 330 hospitalized. The positivity of cases is 20.6%.
