Santo Domingo.- Immigrants held in Immigration Interdiction Centers for repatriation purposes will have their food guaranteed until deportation is carried out.

This was stated by the director of Economic Dining Rooms of the Dominican State (CEED), Edgar Augusto Féliz Méndez, who reported that breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided to all illegal foreigners detained during the interdiction processes.

In a coordination visit carried out by Féliz Méndez, to the general director of MigrationVice Admiral Luis Rafael Lee Ballester, discussed the issue as a way to continue guaranteeing the dignity and human rights of returnees.

Both officials agreed to point out the interest of the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, so that foreigners who are detained due to their illegal status in the country, receive dignified and respectful treatment.

“Responding to the concern of the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, and in compliance with that provision, we have visited Vice Admiral Lee Ballester, so that under the general supervision of the Directorate of Immigration, Economic Kitchens, they can continue supplying the food that he supplies each of the foreigners who are detained for some reason, our president’s interest is that he does not lack food,” said Féliz Méndez.

The general director of Economic Kitchens also said that for these purposes, Mobile Kitchens will be installed in all Migration Interdiction centers located in different parts of the country.

“We are going to assign personnel and send raw provisions every week, and a high-ranking official from the Immigration Directorate will be supervising the procedure,” he explained.

For his part, Vice Admiral Lee Ballester thanked the director of the State Economic Kitchens (CEED), Edgar Augusto Féliz Méndez, for taking the initiative to expand the supply of food to irregular immigrants.

“We thank our friend Edgar Féliz for having taken the initiative to improve the supply of rations made by the Economic Kitchens to irregular immigrants, since until now it was searched and transported which meant an additional cost, as well as some delays. ”, he highlighted. The director of Immigration, pointed out that from now on and due to the needs they face, State Economic Kitchens (CEED), will have Mobile Kitchens installed in the Haina resort, where there is a reception center and in other places where they will have sure breakfast, lunch and dinner.
