Banco Caribe and the National Disability Council (Conadis) will create financial and labor inclusion programs for people with disabilities, which will allow this segment of the population to have a more productive life and greater access to the formal banking system.
These initiatives are contained in an inter-institutional agreement signed in the boardroom of the Banco Caribe headquarters, by its senior director of talent and culture, Francesca Luna; the executive director of Conadis, Osvaldo Antonio Canario and the technical director, Cristina Amiama, with the presence of other directors of both entities.
Francesca Luna stressed that this agreement aims to develop projects to ensure the participation of people with disabilities under equal conditions, and reaffirms the banking institution’s commitment to well-being, economic sustainability, banking, innovative entrepreneurship and access to work without discrimination.
This agreement frames the initiatives carried out by this financial entity since 2020 with the “Caribbean People without Barriers” program, which promotes the inclusion of people with disabilities in the workplace through internships and permanent contracts in operational and administrative areas of the bank, allowing develop their talents in equal conditions, together with internal awareness campaigns.

In addition, Dr. Osvaldo Canario, executive director of Conadishighlighted that, through this agreement, that institution promotes compliance with the labor quota as established in Law 5-13, to guarantee that people with disabilities are included at the labor level in accessible environments and in conditions of equality with the others. people.
“Recognizing the right of people with disabilities to access any service, to receive decent treatment, not to be discriminated against due to their condition, is the first step to achieve the full inclusion to which we are so committed, that is why from Our institution is committed to providing the necessary support to carry out initiatives that encourage the participation of people with disabilities,” he added.
During the protocol meeting, Banco Caribe executives shared initiatives of the “Caribbean People without Barriers” program, which includes the permanent exhibition of various works of art signed by artists with different disabilities, sign language training for a significant number of employees of the business and services area, forming part of the training that it develops with its personnel.
Within the framework of regulatory compliance, the bank implements the Financial Services User Protection Regulation that establishes equal treatment for users with disabilities.
