The Mayor’s Office of El Alto will issue a municipal law in the next few hours to force the different interdepartmental transport operators that are still reluctant to move and operate from the new Metropolitan Terminal, informed the municipal transport secretary, Bernardo Collazos.
“There is already an administrative resolution that suspends operations at the accidental terminal (on Calles 4 and 5 of Avenida 6 de Marzo), but some carriers want it to be elevated to the rank of law and we will do so so that there are sanctions for those who they don’t want to comply with the law,” explained Collazos.
On Saturday the new Alteña Metropolitan Terminal was inaugurated; however, some companies still refuse to relocate, as evidenced yesterday. Transport drivers confirmed that they sent the request for a Mayor’s law to be issued.
“The administrative resolution is not being complied with and they are still operating from the old terminal; That is why we demand a law that guarantees that we all go to work at the new terminal, it must be everyone or no one,” said a transport leader in El Alto.
Collazos said that it is only 20% of companies that refuse to operate from the new infrastructure.
The municipal secretary anticipated that a bill has already been sent to the Municipal Council to be approved and enacted in the next few hours.
