The Social Health Insurance (EsSalud) reported that it will allocate S/ 163 million for the construction of two hospitals, a cancer care center and a dialysis center in Cusco, works that will benefit thousands of policyholders in that region in the south of the country.
The announcement was made by the executive president of EsSalud, Alegre Raúl Fonseca Espinoza, who for the second consecutive day inspected the main health establishments of the Cusco Assistance Network.
He specified that S/ 84 million will be invested in the construction of a modern hospital in the province of Calca, and the implementation of a modular hospital in the district of Urcos. Both projects include state-of-the-art medical equipment and specialized health personnel.

He also said that EsSalud will build two modern centers, one for cancer care and another for dialysis, at the Adolfo Guevara hospital in Cusco, works that will require an investment of S/ 54 million and S/ 25 million, respectively.
Visit to hospitals
Then, the highest authority of Social Security went to Urubamba to inspect the facilities of Hospital I in this city, where he collected the health needs that contribute to improving the services of this care center that serves more than 12,000 insured.
Later, he went to the town of Calca to supervise the medical care provided at the hospital of the same name and did the same at the Urcos medical center.
Next, he went to Sicuani to inspect the hospitalization and emergency areas of the hospital that EsSalud has in this capital of the province of Canchis. In addition, he was in Acomayo where he received a 600 m2 piece of land donated by the provincial municipality.
“We have to buy new equipment, replace ambulances among other implements, but above all, fill the gap in human resources at the country level.“, he pointed.
It should be noted that the Cusco Assistance Network has a total of 18 health establishments, serving a total of 372,887 insured persons.
