For more than 837 thousand dollars, the ¨Rosario Salinero de Gago¨ Day House for the Elderly will be built, which will be located in the district of Juan Díaz.
According to the Minister of Social Development, María Inés Castillo, this project that will provide spaces for recreation and care for a hundred older adults is part of the roadmap to install a National Care System in Panama.
Today the order to proceed for the construction of this project was delivered, for an amount of 837 thousand 753 dollars with 34 cents. Its construction is expected to be completed in 200 calendar days.
“Each and every one of us, at some point in our lives, needs someone to take care of us… In general, people need care in different ways,” Castillo said, emphasizing that this center will be for older adults who live alone or for those who family members cannot take care of them during the day for work reasons.
