They will distinguish promoters of the Spanish language in our country

The Language Policy Secretariat (SPL) will award a special distinction to 22 people from different fields who have stood out in their work as promoters of the Spanish language in our country.

The act of recognition will take place this Friday, April 29, at 10:00 am, in the auditorium of the Library and Central Archives of the National Congress, located on Avda. República and 15 de Agosto in Asunción.

The event is organized for the second consecutive year by the Language Policy Secretariat within the framework of the “World Spanish Language Day”, celebrated on April 23, with the aim of recognizing the promoters of one of the official languages ​​of our country. .

The people who will be distinguished stand out for their career, commitment and work in favor of the creation, research, dissemination, promotion, teaching, etc., of the Spanish language in Paraguay. They are: Juan Evangelista Aguiar Benítez, María Isabel Barreto de Ramírez, Estela Appleyard de Acuña, Guido Rodríguez Alcalá, Esther González Palacios, Pablina Escobar de Rivas, Maxdonia Fernández, Blásida Costa Viveros, Emina Nasser de Natalizia (Posthumous), Mirtha Piris Da Motta (Posthumous), Raquel Chaves, Alberto Muñoz, María del Carmen Benítez Florentín, Teresa González Ramos de Benítez, Aisnalia González de Arévalos, Aida Ortiz de Coronel, Alfredo Méndez García, María Estela Asilvera, María Luz Saldívar Bogado, Juana Dávalos Arce , Estela Mary Peralta de Aguayo and Stella Mary Vallejo de Gómez.

For the selection of the winners, the SPL has appealed and attended to the proposals of higher education institutions, cultural centers, publishing houses, embassies, academies, etc., who have nominated with the due arguments for which they are worthy of the distinction.

The event of recognition and delivery of distinction called for tomorrow will be chaired by the Minister of the Secretariat for Language Policies, Ladislaa Alcaraz de Silvero.
